Mixing-clarifying extractors are widely used in the separation and purification of metals in hydrometallurgical solvent extraction. It is composed of a mixing chamber which continuously feeds and agitates and a clarifying chamber which relies on gravity to separate the phases of the liquid.


In practice, multi-level series is often used to achieve deep separation of the object. Under certain technological conditions, the mass transfer efficiency of the mixing chamber is related to the mixing strength of the stirring paddle and the contact time of the two phases, while the clarifying effect is related to the viscosity, density, surface tension, droplet diameter, clarifying area and clarifying time of the two phases.

Working process

Hybrid mass transfer process

The extractant and the material liquid enter the submerged chamber or the bushing tube from the bottom of the extraction tank in a certain proportion, and are pumped to the mixing chamber and shear mixed and dispersed by the wheeled stirring paddle. At this time, the two-phase liquid is fully mixed, so that the solute is transferred from one phase liquid to another phase liquid, thus completing the mixed mass transfer process.

Separation process

The mixture flows from the mixing chamber to the clarifying chamber. Due to the different density of the two phases, the separation of the two phases is completed under the action of gravity, and the two phases of the separated liquid flow out or enter the next level through the light and heavy phase weir respectively.

Simple structure: the extraction tank is generally composed of a tank body, an interface regulating tube, a motor reducer, a stirring shaft, a stirring paddle, a governor, a mobile platform, etc., and the structure is relatively simple;
