In the non-ferrous metal smelting industry, the extraction tower is an important equipment that plays an important role in the metal extraction and separation process, but it also faces some challenges.
In terms of application, the extraction tower can be used for the extraction and separation of non-ferrous metals such as copper, nickel and cobalt. Taking copper smelting as an example, after copper ore beneficiation and leaching, the leaching solution containing copper is obtained, which contains a variety of impurity ions.
Copper ions can be extracted from the leaching solution by adding a suitable extractant, such as copper extractant, through the extraction column.
In the extraction tower, the extractant and the leaching solution are fully mixed, the copper ions are transferred from the water phase to the organic phase, and then through the stratification, the organic phase containing copper ions is discharged from the top of the tower, and enters the subsequent process of back extraction and electrodeposition, so as to obtain high purity metal copper.
Extraction tower has obvious advantages in non-ferrous metal smelting. It has high mass transfer efficiency and can effectively extract metal ions in a short time, which improves the production efficiency.
At the same time, the continuous production capacity of the extraction tower meets the needs of large-scale smelting of non-ferrous metals. However, extraction towers also face some challenges in the smelting of non-ferrous metals.
The first is the issue of extractants. Many non-ferrous metal extractants have certain toxicity and volatility, which have potential harm to the environment and the health of operators.
Therefore, it is necessary to develop more environmentally friendly and low-toxic extractants, or strengthen the management and recycling of extractants.
Secondly, the material properties of non-ferrous metal smelting process are complex, containing a large number of solid particles, impurity ions, etc., which can easily lead to blockage and corrosion of the internal components of the extraction tower.
