In the process of copper extraction, the traditional extraction equipment has some problems, such as low separation efficiency and serious entrainment, resulting in low metal recovery. To solve these problems, the plant introduced a centrifugal extractor.

First, before extraction, the pulp is pretreated to remove the solid particles and impurities, and then entered into the centrifugal extractor in a certain proportion with the extractant. The high speed rotation of the centrifugal extractor produces a strong centrifugal force, which makes the copper ions in the pulp quickly transfer from the water phase to the organic phase.


In this process, centrifugal force is much greater than gravity, which greatly improves the mass transfer efficiency and shortens the extraction time. Compared with the traditional extraction tank, the separation effect of the centrifugal extractor is significantly improved.


The traditional extraction tank relies on gravity for stratification, the separation time is long, and the phenomenon of light phase entailing heavy phase is easy to occur. The centrifugal extractor can realize the rapid separation of the two phases in a short time, reduce the entrainment phenomenon, and improve the purity of copper.


The organic phase extracted by the centrifugal extractor enters the back extraction stage. In the process of back extraction, copper ions are transferred from organic phase to aqueous phase by adding suitable back extraction agent, so as to obtain high concentration copper solution.


After further treatment, such as electrolysis, a higher purity metal copper is finally obtained. Through the use of centrifugal extractors, the plant's copper recovery rate has increased from 80% to more than 95%, while product quality has also been significantly improved.


In addition, due to the continuous production capacity of the centrifugal extractor, the production efficiency is also greatly improved and the production cost is reduced.
